Two-day pension grievance redressal initiative on October 7-8 to provide on-the-spot assistance to ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and dependents

Akhnoor, October 5, 2026: The Indian Defence Forces, under the aegis of the Directorate of Indian Army Veterans (DIAV), will organise the 204th Raksha Pension Samadhan Ayojan (RPSA) at Akhnoor on October 7 and 8 to address pension-related grievances and welfare concerns of defence veterans and their families.

The two-day initiative, described as a “Defence Pension Resolution Initiative,” will be held at the Sangha Auditorium, Akhnoor, from 9 am to 5 pm on both days.

The event is being organised with the objective of providing a dedicated platform for ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and their dependents to raise pension-related issues and access various welfare services under one roof.

One-Stop Platform for Pension Grievances

The RPSA has been designed as a one-stop facility for veterans seeking assistance with pension matters and related documentation.

Several help desks and service stalls will be established at the venue to facilitate interaction between veterans and representatives of concerned departments and organisations.

The initiative will cover a range of services, including pension-related queries and resolution, updating of service records and assistance with family pension matters.

Specific guidance will also be provided to dependents of veterans to help them understand the procedures and welfare provisions applicable to them.

Assistance With SPARSH and Digital Pension Services

A key component of the two-day event will be assistance related to digital pension services, including SPARSH.

Veterans and their families will be able to seek support in navigating digital pension-related processes and resolving difficulties they may face while accessing online services.

The organisers will also facilitate interaction between veterans and pension authorities, enabling grievances to be communicated directly to the concerned agencies.

On-the-Spot Grievance Redressal

One of the key features of the RPSA will be its emphasis on “in-situ grievance redressal”.

Under the initiative, authorities will attempt to resolve grievances at the venue itself wherever possible. In cases where immediate resolution is not possible, the concerned veteran will be provided clarity on the procedure and the process for taking the matter forward.

The event will also seek to improve coordination between veterans and organisations responsible for maintaining service records, processing pensions and providing welfare assistance.

These include Records Offices, pension-handling banks and other government welfare bodies.

Focus on Veterans, Veer Naris and Dependents

The initiative is expected to witness participation from a large number of defence veterans from Akhnoor and surrounding areas, along with Veer Naris and family members.

Apart from addressing individual pension grievances, the event will provide an opportunity for veterans and their dependents to learn about the broader range of welfare schemes and assistance available to them.

The initiative reflects the Indian Army’s continued focus on the welfare of personnel who have completed their service and their families.

“Your Pension – Our Commitment”

The RPSA will be conducted under the tagline “Your Pension – Our Commitment,” highlighting the focus on ensuring timely assistance and grievance redressal for defence pensioners.

The two-day programme is also intended to strengthen direct interaction between veterans and the institutions responsible for delivering pension and welfare services.
