New Delhi, August 8: The Indian Air Force Band is set to present a special patriotic performance at the Public Plaza, Param Yodha Sthal, National War Memorial, New Delhi, on August 9, as part of the celebrations leading up to Independence Day 2026.

The musical performance will be held from 5 PM to 6 PM and will celebrate the spirit of patriotism while marking 150 years of India’s National Song, ‘Vande Mataram’.

40-Member IAF Team to Perform

The performance will feature a 40-member musical contingent, comprising 32 Airmen and eight Agniveervayu personnel, including three women.

The band will perform a selection of patriotic and soulful compositions, with an energetic presentation designed to engage the public and evoke a strong sense of national pride.

Performance at Param Yodha Sthal

The National War Memorial will provide the backdrop for the special performance, connecting the musical celebration with India’s tradition of honouring its fallen soldiers.

The event is aimed at strengthening public engagement with the Armed Forces and celebrating the country’s Independence Day through music and patriotic expression.

Led by Experienced IAF Musicians

Master Warrant Officer A Srihari will be the principal conductor of the performance.

He will be assisted by:

  • Junior Warrant Officer Moon Deka
  • Junior Warrant Officer Abhishek Paul
  • Sergeant NT Singh

The Indian Air Force Band’s performance is expected to offer visitors an opportunity to experience military music while celebrating the country’s rich patriotic traditions ahead of Independence Day on August 15.
