Amritsar, August 9: The Border Security Force (BSF) has reportedly shot dead a suspected Pakistani intruder after he crossed the India-Pakistan International Border and allegedly attempted to move towards the border fence in the Amritsar sector of Punjab.
According to reports emerging on Sunday, the incident took place near Daoke village in Amritsar district. BSF personnel deployed along the border reportedly noticed suspicious movement and intercepted the individual after he entered Indian territory.
Intruder Allegedly Ignored Repeated Warnings
The BSF personnel reportedly challenged the man and asked him to stop. However, according to the initial account, he allegedly continued moving towards the border fence despite the warnings.
The troops subsequently opened fire, resulting in the intruder being killed.
The incident triggered a search and security operation in the surrounding area as security personnel moved to ensure that there was no additional infiltration attempt.
Security Tightened Along Border
Following the incident, security forces reportedly intensified surveillance and patrolling along the affected stretch of the international border.
The area was thoroughly searched as officials worked to establish the identity of the deceased and determine the circumstances and possible motive behind the crossing.

In December 2024, the BSF reported shooting dead a Pakistani intruder near Mahawa village after he crossed the International Boundary and continued advancing towards the border fence despite being challenged.
