Rajouri, July 28: The Indian Army has launched a specialised search operation to trace a person reported missing after a flash flood struck Bharot village in Rajouri district.

The operation was initiated following reports that Abdul Ghani went missing in the aftermath of the flash flood. Responding swiftly, the Army deployed a dedicated search team along with a trained tracker dog to assist in locating the missing individual.

Extensive Search in Flood-Affected Area

Army personnel carried out a systematic search across the flood-hit area, combing through debris, mud, rocks and other difficult terrain created by the flash flood.

The tracker dog was used to detect possible traces in locations where access remained challenging due to accumulated wreckage and unstable ground conditions.

Challenging Conditions

The search operation is being conducted under difficult weather and terrain conditions, with troops working closely with the civil administration and other agencies involved in the rescue effort.

Officials said every accessible part of the affected area is being thoroughly searched to maximise the chances of locating the missing person.

Army Extends Support to Civil Administration

The Indian Army reiterated its commitment to assisting the civil administration and local communities during natural disasters and emergencies.

Search operations will continue in coordination with the concerned authorities, with all possible assistance being extended to the affected family and residents of Bharot village until the missing person is traced.
