Nagrota, August 16: Sainik School Nagrota celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour, with cadets and staff reaffirming their commitment to the nation, discipline and the values of service.
The celebrations began with the hoisting of the National Flag by Capt (IN) Shibu Devasia, Principal, Sainik School Nagrota, followed by the National Anthem. Appreciation Certificates were also presented to selected members of the school staff in recognition of their meritorious service and dedicated contribution.
🏆 Double Honour at UT-Level Ceremony
The celebrations received a major boost with the school’s outstanding performance at the Union Territory-level Independence Day ceremony held at MA Stadium, Jammu.
The Sainik School Nagrota Drill Contingent was adjudged the Best Drill Contingent, earning the prestigious honour for its precision, discipline, coordination and ceremonial excellence.
Adding to the achievement, the Sainik School Nagrota Band received the Excellence Award for its impressive performance.
The twin honours — Best Drill Contingent and Excellence Award for the School Band — marked a proud moment for the institution and reflected the high standards of discipline, teamwork and dedication cultivated among its cadets.

The recognition at the UT level was the result of sustained preparation and rigorous training.
The cadets demonstrated precision, synchronisation, discipline and confidence, showcasing the values that form an integral part of the Sainik School system.
Congratulating the cadets, Principal Capt (IN) Shibu Devasia appreciated their hard work, perseverance and disciplined preparation. He also commended the Band Master and NCC PI Staff for their dedicated training, guidance and meticulous preparation, which played an important role in the contingents’ successful performances.
