Srinagar, August 1: In a fresh terror attack targeting civilians, two migrant labourers from Chhattisgarh were killed after terrorists opened fire at a brick kiln in Kelam area of Kulgam district in South Kashmir on Friday evening.

According to officials, the terrorists attacked the labourers working at the brick kiln, leaving both critically injured.

Both Labourers Succumb to Injuries

One of the victims, identified as Deepak Ratray, succumbed to his injuries before he could be shifted to a hospital.

Officials later confirmed that the second injured labourer also succumbed, taking the death toll in the attack to two.

Both victims were residents of Chhattisgarh and had been working at the brick kiln as migrant labourers.

Area Cordoned Off

Soon after the attack, security forces rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. A search operation has been launched to trace the terrorists involved in the attack.

Police and security agencies are investigating the incident and are working to establish the identity and affiliation of the attackers.

Attack Targets Migrant Workers

The incident marks another attack on migrant workers in Jammu and Kashmir, who have been repeatedly targeted by terrorists in an apparent attempt to spread fear and disrupt normalcy in the Union Territory.

Senior police and civil administration officials have reached the area, while further investigation is underway.
